Tolfemic

Injectable solution

Formula:

Each 100 mL contains:

Tofelnamic acid 4.0 g

Excipients q.s.ad. 100 mL

Indications:

Tolfemic is a highly active non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, indicated for treatment of acute or chronic processes. It has analgesic and antipyretic properties. It acts as complementary treatment of inflammatory infectious processes. Mastitis, bone and joint diseases, inflammatory respiratory processes, MMA syndrome in pigs, treatment for postsurgical pain, etc.

Target species:

Bovine and swine.

Withdrawal period:

Meat: bovine 11 days; swine 3 days.

Milk: 0 days.

It is contraindicated in cases of cardiac or hepatic disease and digestive bleeding ulcers. Do not administer to animals with hypersensitivity to the active principle. Administer at the recommended dose. Do not administer in conjunction with other NSAIDs. In swine, only apply intramuscularly. Use with caution in animals younger than 6 weeks. It is not recommended to apply more than 20 mL per injection point.

Route of administration:

Intramuscular route; applying aseptic measures corresponding to the administration of injections.

In swine only apply deep intramuscular injection in the neck.

Dosage:

It is recommended 1ml per 20 kg weight (2 mg/7kg live weight). If Tolfemic is used with antibiotics for infectious processes that do not improve within 48 hours, a second dose may be required after this period.

In very acute processes, a double dose or the recommended dose for two consecutive days can be applied.

It is not recommended to exceed 5 consecutive applications.
