Formula :

Each 100 mL contains:

Buparvaquone……………. 5,0 g

Excipientes q.s.ad……. 100 mL

 

Indications:

Its active ingredient is a second generation hidroxinaftoquinona with action
on hemoprotozoarios. It is indicated for prophylaxis and treatment of all forms of
theileriosis in cattle (“East Coast Fever,” “Corridor disease”, “Tropical Theileriosis”, etc). Etiologic agents: Theileria annulata, T. parva and T. sergenti.

 

Withdrawal period:

Meet: 42 days

Milk: 48 hours.

 

Route of administration:

Intramuscular injection only, with the aseptic measures corresponding to the administration of injectable. Do not administer more than 10 mL per injection site.

 

Dosage:

1 mL every 20 kg of weight, equivalent to 2.5 mg/kg.

In severe cases the dosage may be repeated 48 to 72 hours after the first administration.

Treat clinically ill animals and those who might be infected by contact but without clinical signs.

Occasionally, it may momentarily occur, signs of localized inflammation, oedema and/or pain in the injection site, especially in thin skin animals.

When theileriosis outbreak occurs, it is recommended to use dip or spray dip acaricide treatment as part of the Control Program of this disease. Ensure the active principle and its concentration are right and all animals are subject to this control. Avoid provoking to sick animals the minimal stress. Use also spray dip in dead animals in order to avoid ticks keep spreading the disease. It should also be considered other tick-borne disease appearance, of which signs may be masked by theileriosis or latent infestations in animals whose immune response is weaken. In cases of anaplasmosis and babesiosis treat with Imidocarb. Apply antibiotics for secondary infections and avoid provoking stressful situations to sick animals. Anemia and immune system depression are common in theileriosis, implement supportive treatment and avoid vaccinating animals until recovery completely.
